Teil der ehemaligen Stadtbefestigung Augsburgs

Das Rote Tor bildet zusammen mit der Brücke, dem Vortor sowie der Bastion und dem Stadtgraben die sogenannte „Rote-Torwall-Anlage“. Diese Verteidigungsbauwerke sind in großen Stücken bis heute erhalten. In dieser schönen Kulisse liegt heute die Augsburger Freilichtbühne.
