This stone says that in 1846 a "Spielmann" (traveling musician), who had stopped at the upper inn "Schenk" in the evening, became the victim of the crime. He boasted about the money he had with him and thus attracted the attention of those present.
After he made his way to Crottendorf at night, he was ambushed by someone at the edge of the forest at point 713.3 who had heard about all the money. He killed the poor minstrel, who in reality only had a few pennies on him, and for the sake of completeness it should be said that the murderer, a certain Uhlig, was caught days later. He roamed the woods after the crime. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The "robbery-murder stone" was erected at the scene of the crime with the inscription: Robbery-murder 1846 The death and burial notices from 1837 to 1863 of the Neudorf church report on this under No. 32 on sheet 90/1: Saturday, October 17, 1846: Christian Friedrich Leberecht, Zeuner, former puppet minstrel, place of residence Chemnitz, age 59 1/2 years. Cause of death: Robbery-murder. Married only once, leaves widow with a major son.
