Queen Louise of Prussia, wife of Frederick William III, was probably the most popular Prussian queen.

She visited Bad Pyrmont in 1777 as a child, in 1796 as crown princess and in the early summer of 1806 as queen with a large court. During her stays, she lived in the Hotel Fürstenhof and had a balcony overlooking the Brunnenplatz. She was a very popular queen and became known above all for her courageous appearance in July 1807 in the face of Napoleon. To mark the 100th anniversary of Queen Luise's stay in Bad Pyrmont, a committee had the Queen Luise Stone erected in her honor at Königsberg in 1906.
