Der "Mate-Stoi" erinnert an Matthias Osswald (1834-1902) aus Schlechtenfeld, auch "Schleifer-Theis" genannt, der jahrzehntelang hier hauste und in der Gestalt des "Pfanna-Mate" in der Ehinger Fasnet weiterlebt. Im Jahre 2000 wurde der Stein von Josef Mantz gestaltet und an den noch sichtbaren Fundamenten der armseligen Steinhütte aufgebaut.
