Dem berühmten Klagenfurter Liederfürsten, der als Hofopernmitglied und mit seinen Qartetten das Kärntner Lied bis nach Amerika berühmt gemacht hat, ist in Klagenfurt ein Museum und ein Denkmal vor dem Museum gewidmet. Die erste bronzene Büste auf einem Sockel aus Kanaltaler Porphyr überlebte nur bis 1940. Dann fiel sie der "Reichsmetallsammlung" zum Opfer. Der "Führer" hatte Klagenfurt wieder ein Denkmal gekostet. Bis 1952 war das Denkmal, ein Sockel aus Kanaltaler Porphyr, "kopflos", dann wurde bei Anton Pichler eine Marmorbüste in Auftrag gegeben, die heute noch zu sehen ist.
