Hier findet sich Reste einer Wehranlage aus vorchristlicher Zeit, die bis in das 8. nachchristliche Jahrhundert immer wieder aufgebaut wurde. Die Anlage bot der Bevölkerung Schutz in Unruhezeiten. Eine keltische Nutzung der Birg wird vermutet, acht unterschiedliche Nutzungsperioden konnten nachgewiesen werden.
