Im Rahmen der Landesgartenschau wurde 2015, die ebenfalls durch den Künstler Klaus Hirsch entworfene Mariensäule, auf dem Gelände des jetzigen Bürger- und Familienparks eingeweiht. Die schlicht gehaltene Sandsteinsäule zeigt die Statue der Jungfrau Maria, deren Kopf leicht nach hinten geneigt ist und deren Hände zum Gebet gefaltet sind. Die Skulptur ist ein Duplikat der Marienstatue von Chodov, der Partnerstadt der Stadt Oelsnitz/Erzgeb.
