Punkt 9 auf dem Rundgang durch den historischen Ortskern

Das große, zweigeschossige Backsteinwohnhaus wurde vermutlich um 1669 erbaut, nach dem Stadtbrand von1708 wieder auf- und umgebaut. Es war über lange Zeit das Wohnhaus der Amtmänner der Stadt und des Landes Wachtendonk, Amtmann WilhelmDuyckers, † 1722, AmtmannConradus Duyckers, † 1731, Amtmann Henricus Winandus Tauwel, der das Haus im Jahre 1750 erwarb. Um 1800 war das Gebäude zunächst Gaststätte des Peter Bremus (bis 1891), danach beherbergte es die Zigarrenherstellung Franck und Ramers. Seit 1907 gibt es unterschiedliche geschäftliche Nutzungen (Zigarren, Lebensmittel, Elektro).
