In Gedenken an den Revierförster der von Schönberg.
Pfaffroda und Schönfeld werden im westlichen Teil von Laub- und Nadelwäldern umgeben, die größtenteils von der Waldgemeinschaft Pfaffroda bewirtschaftet werden.
Von 1888 – 1908 betreute der Oberförster Max Clemens das herrschaftliche Forstrevier. Ihm wurde im Wald im oberen Bärenbachtal ein Gedenkstein errichtet.
