One of the landmarks of the English Garden, representing a pagoda built of wood.
In 1790, the 25-metre-high Chinese Tower was built to serve as a viewing platform in the English Garden. At that time, the trees were probably not yet that high, but in the meantime they have grown so much that their function has become obsolete. Today, only the brass band is allowed to enter the venerable building, which was rebuilt in 1952 after the Second World War. In 1980 the first CSD demonstration took place in Munich, which started at the Viktualienmarkt and ended at the Chinese Tower.
