The site entered the Waldensian affair in 1532, when it hosted an assembly of beards, the medieval preachers from throughout the Waldensian area, and preachers from Switzerland. The assembly's decisions marked the entry of the medieval Waldensian movement into the sphere of the Reformation. In 1932 a monument made of a stone stele, carved on the heights of Angrogna according to the design of painter Paolo Paschetto, was erected in memory of that assembly.
