The Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt is one of the most impressive examples of medieval architecture. Since August 2004, this significant Luther site, where Martin Luther lived from 1505 until 1511, has been classified as a ‘national heritage site of outstanding cultural importance’. A visit to see the monastery’s permanent exhibition ‘Bibel-Kloster-Luther’ (Bible-Monastery-Luther) as well as the historical library and Luther’s cell is well worth it.

After suffering terrible damage during the Second World War, the Augustinian Monastery was rebuilt from 1945. Since 1983, it has been a nationally and internationally recognized event and meeting place for the Protestant Church in the ecclesiastical province of Saxony. After extensive renovation and restoration work, a total of 51 rooms are now available.

In true monastery style, the event and meeting place follows a simple lifestyle. The quiet and friendly atmosphere of the simple, light furnished rooms provides space to switch off after a hectic day.

Make use of one of the 12 meeting rooms in the monastery for your next event.
