Klosterkirche in Steingaden

Das Kloster Steingaden ist ein ehemaliges Kloster der Prämonstratenser in Steingaden in Bayern und gehört zum Bistum Augsburg.

Das Kloster der Prämontrantenser in Steingaden wurde 1147 von Markgraf Welf VI. als Hauskloster und Grablege der Welfen gegründet. Historiker nennen es auch das "aufgeschlagene Buch der Kunstgeschichte". Von der Romantik bis in die Moderne sind nahezu alle wichtigen Epochen in den prächtigen Deckenmalereien vertreten. Besonderes Highlight ist der gotische Kreuzgang.
