Die Klosteranlage des Benediktinerinnenklosters St. Johann in Müstair zählt seit 1983 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Das rund um das Jahr 800 gegründete und von Karl dem Großen gestiftete Kloster ist seit dem 12. Jh. ein Benediktinerinnenkonvent. Ende des 19. Jh. wurden in der Kirche karolingische Fresken aus dem 9. Jh. entdeckt, die heute als einer der größten und am besten erhaltenen Freskenzyklen des frühen Mittelalters gilt. Daneben finden sich romanische Wandmalereien aus dem 12./13. Jh.

Außerdem beherbergt das Kloster ein Klostermuseum, das über den Alltag der Benediktinerinnen, die Kulturpflege, Kunst und Forschung informiert.
