Andechs blickt auf eine über 900jährige Wallfahrtstradition zurück und ist damit die älteste Wallfahrt Bayerns. Seit 1455 betreuen Benediktiner die Wallfahrt. Die ursprünglich gotische Wallfahrtskirche ist ein Wahrzeichen der Region und Anziehungspunkt für Pilger und Touristen gleichermaßen. Der prunkvoll verzierte Rokokko-Innenraum lässt die Glaubens- und Daseinsfreude des 18. Jahrhunderts unmittelbar erleben.
