The Monastery of Agia Efpraxia was founded in 1819. The monastery became renowned for the famous textiles and handicrafts made by its nuns.

The monastery was founded in 1819 and has always been a womens' monastery (Nunnery). It is reknowned for the hand crafted needlework and woven artifacts of its nuns.
