Relikt aus römischer Zeit

Der Emilianusstollen ist ein Bergwerk aus der Römerzeit, das unverändert und unberührt an den Steilhängen im Wallerfanger Ortsteil St. Barbara liegt. Es ist das einzig bekannte Azurit-Bergwerk römischen Ursprungs nördlich der Alpen. Im Mittelalter war das Azurit die Grundlage für die Herstellung der Malerfarbe Azurblau, dem berühmten Wallerfanger Blau!

Interessante Einblicke erhalten Besucher im Rahmen von kostenpflichtigen Führungen durch kundige Gästeführer an mehreren Besichtigungsterminen im Jahr. Die Termine entnehmen Sie bitte unserem Veranstaltungskalender oder der Presse. Gruppenführungen sind nach vorheriger Terminabsprache möglich über die Tourist-Information Saarlouis, Tel. 06831 – 444 449.

Price:

Die Teilnahmegebühr für Führungen im Stollen beträgt 3 € pro Person. Das Areal um den Stollen ist frei zugänglich.

Directions

Der Eingang zum Emilianusstollen, der durch einen kleinen Torbogen gekennzeichnet ist, befindet sich direkt in der Ortsdurchfahrt von Wallerfangen-St. Barbara, ganz in der Nähe der Filialkirche St. Salvator und des Dorfgemeinschaftshauses bzw. der Feuerwehr.

Parking

Bitte nutzen Sie den Parkplatz schräg gegenüber am Dorfgemeinschaftshaus (etwa 20m entfernt). Der Parkplatz ist ausgeschildert.
