Die Bockwindmühle ist die erste Mühle dieser Art in Dettum und befindet sich seit 1806 westlich auf dem Melkeberg.

Sie ist eine der vielen "Patentmühlen" der Französischen Zeit von 1806 bis 1813. Jedoch sahen die umliegenden Müller eine neue Konkurrenz für ihre Betriebe, wodurch sie 1843 abgerissen wurde. Erst 1863 wurde die jetzige Mühle am Weg nach Mönchevahlberg für den Müller Friedrich Roßmann errichtet. Die Bockwindmühle wird wurde von Anfang an mit 2 Mahlgängen ausgestattet und wird seither erhalten. Nach Vereinbarung kann die Mühle auch besichtigt werden.
