Auf dem Kirschfels, 496m über dem Wellbachtal stand etwas abenteuerlich der "Kirschfelsturm", der von einer Bundeswehr Pionier-Einheit erbaut wurde.
Auf einem überhängenden Fels stand der zweistöckige Holzturm, der schon etwas altersschwach war.

Der neue Kirschfelsturm

der alte Turm mußte wegen "Altersschwäche" abgerissen werden.

Im Jahr 2009 wurde auf fast der gleichen Stelle eine Holztribüne erbaut.

Diese Konstruktion ist wohl einzigartig im Pfälzerwald.

Etwa 20 Personen finden Platz auf der Tribüne um diese Aussicht zu genießen.
