Fast einhundert Meter erhebt sich dieser exponierte Felsvorsprung über dem Tal der Werra. Von hier hat man einen wundervollen Blick über die Höhen des Thüringer Waldes und kann für eine Weile die Seele baumeln lassen.
Die Hirschkanzel liegt nicht genau am Lutherweg. Sie können aber bei der Wegkehre vor dem Werrateich einen kurzen Abstecher hierher machen und laufen dann entweder wieder zurück oder folgen dem Weg weiter nach Süden. Sie treffen später wieder auf den Lutherweg und können ihre Wanderung nach dem ursprünglichen Wegeverlauf fortsetzen.
Ein Abstecher lohnt sich definitv.
