Der Bürgerturm auf dem Galberg bei Gotha bietet einen weiten Blick ins Thüringer Land.

Der Krahnberg war bis 1998 Sperrgebiet. Danach gründeten Gothaer Bürger am 25.5.1998 den „Bürgerturmverein Gotha e.V.“. Der Name war zugleich Programm, viele Gothaer Bürger beim Bau eines neuen Aussichtsturmes einzubeziehen, der die Nachfolge des 1972 beseitigten Arnolditurms werden sollte. Am 13. und 14. Juni 2009 wurde dann der neue Aussichtsturm mit einem großen Fest eingeweiht. Namensschilder an verschiedenen Bauteilen erinnern an die zahlreichen Spender. Weitere Informationen siehe:
