Located in the western Vienna Woods, Tullnerbach developed into a popular summer resort for the Viennese population after the construction of the Empress Elisabeth Western Railway (1858). Then, as now, the pleasant climate of the Wiental valley as well as the tranquillity and proximity to Vienna made Tullnerbach a popular recreational area. Marked hiking trails around the Troppberg and numerous sporting activities such as horse riding, mountain biking and cross-country skiing offer a varied program.
