Recreation and nature experience in the Feistritz Valley - Trattenbach lies at the foot of the Wechsel and Otter rivers and offers many beautiful hiking trails. The village is famous throughout the world as the place where the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein worked as a primary school teacher. - The Wechselforelle restaurant is also very popular in the region, offering both fishing and culinary delights based on local freshwater fish.
- In August 2002, a moor meadow (3,466 m²) was declared a natural monument. In the central area of this sloping moorland, you will find the sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), a carnivorous plant that specializes in moorland habitats, as well as a number of other rare marsh and moorland plants.
