Gralheira

In its oldest area, granite houses stand out, with wide walls, some of them retaining the primitive thatched roofs. Here you can visit the Interpretative Center of Gralheira - Casa do Ribeirinho - a space that serves both as a museum and a place to carry out activities related to the cultivation of corn, smoke- house, bread production, clothing and local crafts, having available guided tours for groups. The local cuisine is one of its main attractions with dishes such as wood-fired oven roasted lamb and veal, cozido à portuguesa and salpicão rice. Every year, around Christmas Season, Gralheira is filled with magic, with the "Father Christmas Village", an event that promotes numerous cultural entertainment activities.
