Bönnigheim liegt zwischen Heilbronn und Ludwigsburg am Rande des Strombergs. Die mittelalterliche Stadtsilhouette ist schon von weitem sichtbar.
Die Atmosphäre von Bönnigheim wird von Natur und Landschaft, Weinbau, Geschichte und Kultur geprägt. Die mittelalterlichen Bauten der Ganerbenburg, des Köllesturmes und der Cyriakuskirche sind bereits aus der Ferne zu erkennen. Ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt ist das Stadionsche Schloss, ein barockes Juwel. Die erste Vinothek der Region Stuttgart lädt zum Verkosten hervorragender Weine, Sekte und Spirituosen ein, die für ihre Spitzenqualität bekannt sind. Ein Schatz der Baukunst ist das Ratsstüble, ein schönes altes Fachwerkhaus aus dem Jahr 1458, das 2000 restauriert wurde. Fünf Museen laden Kulturfreunde zu Erkundungstouren in der Stadt ein: Naive Kunst, Literatur von Sophie La Roche, Schnaps und dessen Verwendung in der Medizin sowie die Sudetendeutsche Heimatstube sind die Themen, die einen längeren Aufenthalt in Bönnigheim schmackhaft machen.
