The brick tower, just under 36 meters tall, was built in 1849 and is one of the oldest lighthouses on the German Baltic Sea coast.
For a fee, visitors can climb the 134 steps and 35 meters in elevation to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea and the surrounding countryside.
