Der nördlichste Leuchtturm von Deutschland steht auf der Nordwestseite der Insel Sylt - auf dem sogenannten Ellenbogen. Er dient der Orientierung im "Lister Tief".
Der weiße Turm wurde 1857 von der Isselburger Hütte aus gusseisernen Platten hergestellt, die mittels Bolzen verbunden sind. Das rote Laternenhaus ist eine Stahlkonstruktion mit einem Kupferdach. Als Leuchtmittel wird heute eine Halogen-Metalldampflampe 230V / 250W verwendet. Seit 1977 wird das Feuer vom Wasser- und Schifffahrtsamt Tönning ferngesteuert. Das Leuchtfeuer fungiert als Orientierungsfeuer für das 'Lister Tief' und der weiße Leitsektor führt durch das 'Römö Tief' (Rømø-Dyb).
