It is the southern end of the island. It is part of a natural area of special interest. It is located in the municipality of Santanyí.
The lighthouse was inaugurated on 31 August 1863. It was equipped with solar panels in the 1980s, making it the first lighthouse in Spain to be lit with this type of energy supply.
