In the fare southern end of the Vuokatti hill line, lies the Rönkkö lean-to-shelter welcoming skiers and hikers to enjoy a well-deserved break.

This popular resting area is shelterd by spruces. It is located along the Vaarankylä Ski Tour 26 km and the UKK hiking trail.

Amenities include a lean-to, a fireplace, firewood and a dry toilet.

On skis: Located along the Vaarankylä Cross country tour 26 km
From direction Vaarankylä: 12 km from the Vuokatti Sports Institute.
From direction Rekikesti: 4 km from Cafe Rekikesti.

By car: Approx. 14 km from the Vuokatti Sports Institute. First to direction Kajaani (road nr. 76), then to Nurmes-Joensuu (road nr. 6). The parking place in on the right and the lean-to close to the parking.
