Initially, this lake was two smaller separate ones which were dammed to form a big water reservoir in the National Park Lake District.

The west shoreline is ideal to discover Thirlmere. In the middle of the National Park Lake District, there are plenty of walking trails suitable for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds of levels. Thirlmere is the perfect backdrop throughout the year with fantastic wildlife.
