Der See ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel der Ilmenauer

Für Wanderfreunde gibt es einen reizvollen, regional bekannten Rundwanderweg um das Gewässer. Der See ist im Sommer ein beliebter Badeplatz. Von Anglern und Wassersportlern wird er ebenfalls gern genutzt.

Ein Hotel mit Restaurant befindet sich direkt am See.

Sehr geehrter Herr Brandt, die Talsperre Heyda ist eine Brauchwassertalsperre und kein ausgezeichnetes Badegewässer. Es findet dort keine Wasser Beprobung statt, das baden erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr.
