Oberhornsee lake is small (in dry spells, almost comically small) and cold, and is not visible until you reach it. It’s a nice place for a quick swim on a warm day, and a very pleasant afternoon could be spent simply lounging by the lake.
It is reached about 1½ hrs past Obersteinberg, and is a great "extra credit" hike for people on our Bernese Oberland tours who are staying the night at Obersteinberg.
