Der Maschsee liegt im Herzen Hannovers und ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel.

Der ungefähr 6 Kilometer lange Uferweg ist ideal für Spaziergänge, zum Radeln und Joggen. Rund um den künstlich angelegten See findet ihr ein Strandbad, Segel- und Yachtschulen und einen Bootsverleih. An dem Naherholungsgebiet Maschsee habt ihr somit zahlreiche Wassersportmöglichkeiten: Schwimmen, Surfen, Tretbootfahren, Segeln und Rudern. Außerdem fahren Personenschiffe der Üstra Rundfahrten um den See, wobei ihr den See vom Wasser aus entdecken könnt. Eine Stärkung könnt ihr euch im Anschluss in einem der Biergärten, Cafés und Restaurants holen.

Vom Hauptbahnhof Hannover mit den S-Bahn-Linien 1, 2 oder 8 mit folgenden möglichen Haltestellen: Aegidientorplatz, Schlägerstraße, Geibelstraße, Altenbekener Damm oder Döhrener Turm

Bei Anfahrt über die Bundesstraßen oder Autobahnen den Schildern in Richtung Zentrum oder HDI Arena folgen. Der See liegt südlich der Innenstadt.
