Auf asphaltierten Wegen können Wanderer, Radfahrer und Inlineskater den Markkleeberger See umrunden oder die Tour bis zu seinem Nachbar, dem Störmthaler See ausdehnen. Segeln, Surfen, Tauchen und Klettern stehen in der Sommersaison hoch im Kurs. Mittels einer Schleuse gelangen Wasserwanderer in den benachbarten Störmthaler See. Wer es lieber etwas gemütlicher mag, kann mit dem Fahrgastschiff den See erkunden oder im Modellbaupark mit der Gartenbahn ein paar Runden drehen.
Neben einem Campingplatz befindet sich außerdem direkt am See eine familienfreundliche Ferienanlage mit Restaurant und komfortabel ausgestatteten Appartements und Ferienhäusern sowie eine Wellness- und Saunalandschaft.
