Loch an Eilein or Eileain means „loch of the island” – and, of course, there is an island. On this island is the 14th century ruined castle of the Wolf of Badenoch.
Around the lake leads a beautiful and well-maintained path, which guides you to all corners of Loch an Eilein. In summer, the lake is a great destination, when the water is clear and the forest reflects on the water surface. In winter, it turns into a winter wonderland and the lake freezes.
The path is suitable for young and old and all kinds of walking levels.
