This spectacular lake has a heart-like shape
.Originated by a landslide that blocked the course of the Tasso River thousands of years ago, Lake Scanno is surrounded by the Marsicani Mountains and is part of the Monte Genziana Nature Reserve. It is the largest natural lake in the Abruzzo region.
.After bathing in its azure-green waters or taking a pedal or canoe ride, we recommend the Sentiero del Cuore, which leads to the Eremo di Sant’Egidio and then to the Osservatorio del Cuore, the vantage point from which to enjoy the view of this splendid lake.
