Lac des Perches, also known as Sternsee, nestles in an ancient glacial cirque; its formation is believed to be the result of volcanic activity. Accessible only on foot, this site remains very well-preserved, and several hiking trails lead to it. The most scenic hike is called the “Three Lakes Loop,” which also takes you to the other two lakes of Neuweiher at an elevation of 880 meters. Activities: fishing, hiking (swimming prohibited due to risks and hazards). Access: On foot only; a 1-hour walk from Neuweiher and a 40-minute walk from the Riesenwald farmhouse inn.
Camping is strictly prohibited on the lake’s shores and in the surrounding area.
