Die Trinkwassertalsperre "Kleine Kinzig" befindet sich in landschaftlich reizvoller Lage etwas oberhalb von Alpisbach-Reinerzau, nur 15 km von Freudenstadt entfernt. Auf einem 8 km langen Wanderweg durch den Wald kann man den Stausee umrunden und immer wieder herrliche Ausblicke genießen.
Der Schwarzwälder Wasserpfad (6 km) führt von Reinerzau entlang des Flüsschens Kleine Kinzig zum Staudamm, am Wegrand sind Informationstafeln zu allem, was mit dem Thema Wasser zusammenhängt, angebracht.
Da die Talsperre zur Trinkwassergewinnung dient, ist Wassersport ist nicht gestattet.
