Clear mountain lake on the Wilder Kaiser, popular for swimming and hiking.

Lake Hintersteiner See lies at an altitude of around 880 meters in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve and is one of the cleanest lakes in Tyrol. A circular route of around 5 kilometers leads directly along the shore, mostly on wide forest paths with short, narrower sections. The direct circuit around the shore is partially closed to cyclists, but there are several alternative routes, for example via the surrounding mountain pastures.

In summer, a visit to the small lido is a good idea. A visit to the lake is worthwhile for a short walk, but also for longer hikes towards the Walleralm.
