The Heidesee was created as a result of lignite mining. It lies on the edge of the Dölauer Heide and is best known for its natural outdoor swimming pool, Heidebad.

Discover the Heidesee in Halle – a real gem in the middle of the city! The idyllic lake on the edge of the Dölauer Heide offers perfect relaxation. Here you can really unwind as the birds chirp and the sun sparkles on the water.

Pack your swimming trunks and plunge into the refreshing water at the Heidebad or enjoy a leisurely boat trip. The surrounding forest invites you to take long walks and bike rides. It is especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves shine in bright colours.

Around the lake you will find cosy picnic areas and barbecue spots. Or you can stop off at one of the nearby cafés and restaurants and enjoy some culinary delights. The Heidesee is an all-rounder: relaxation, fun and pure nature!

Public transport

From the main train station/ZOB, take the bus to the Am Heidesee stop. From there it’s a 20-minute walk to the lake.

Directions

Coming from the B80, drive over the Chaussee Bridge and turn onto Eislebener Straße. Then continue left onto Am Heidebad.

Parking

You can park at the Heidebad car park.
