Der Gottrazhofer Stausee von 1925 ist ein schönes Beispiel, wie sich die Natur über Jahre hinweg neuen Raum zurückerobert.

Die Untere Argen entspringt in rund 850 Meter Höhe im Oberallgäu in der Nähe von Missen-Wilhams und fließt durch den Gottrazhofer Stausee. Ein Vogelparadies mit ca. 120 verschiedenen Vogelarten und einem Fischpass, den die Bachforellen zum Laichen in andere Gewässerabschnitte nutzen. Dort informieren Schautafeln über die Funktion eines Stauwehrs und erhält interessante Einblicke in das Innere des EnBW Wasserkraftwerks.
