Hoch über dem Finailhof im mittleren Schnalstal liegt auf 2690 m der Finailsee. Umrahmt von Fels und Blockwerk wirkt der See geradezu urzeitlich.

Mit einer Länge von 175 m und einer Breite von 140 m hat dieser Bergsee eine stattliche Größe. Eine starke Felsenquelle und mehrere kleine Nebenquellen versorgen den See mit Frischwasser. Der Abfluß geschieht unterirdisch und tritt erst später zutage.
