Experience Path Argenthaler Waldsee

The loop path (5.5 km) starts at the Waldsee (lake in the forest) Argenthal. The lake is an insider tipp. There you will find parking areas, Die The trail is marked on natural stones with a blue arrow. Almost 20 information boards inform about the geological history in the Hunsrück (in German). On an observation deck with shed you will get an overview about the modern open cast mining. The firm "Argenthaler Steinbruch" (=stone pit) mines here the rare raw material quartzite. Have you known, that the Soonwald (=forest) used to be at the sea? Board 12 gives the explanation.
