Der Blautopf ist eine Karstquelle am Südostrand der Schwäbischen Alb.
Die Quelle speist die Blau, einen Fluss, der in Ulm in die Donau mündet. Aufgrund des hohen Wasserdrucks entstand ein trichterförmiger Quelltopf, der eine Tiefe von bis zu 21 Meter erreicht. Die intensive blaue Farbe entsteht durch die Streuungseigenschaften des kalkgesättigten Quellwassers.
ACHTUNG: Ab Ende August 2024 bis Dezember 2028 wird das gesamte Areal rund um den Blautopf in Blaubeuren saniert. Dadurch wird das Ausflugsziel für längere Zeit nicht begehbar sein.
