The Technical Museum shows the tradition of chair making and historical furniture production
The "Old Chair Factory" Technical Museum in Neuhausen offers a fascinating insight into the 150-year tradition of chair making in the region. In a former production facility of the VEB Vereinigte Sitzmöbelindustrie, the entire chair manufacturing process is brought to life, from the processing of the wood to the finished chair. The "Rokoko" model, which was manufactured for upmarket furnishings, was particularly important. The museum contains reconstructed workplaces, historical documents and a permanent exhibition on the history of furniture. A highlight is the show workshop, where traditional craftsmanship is kept alive.
