Aspö is an island in the outer Pargas archipelago with only a few year-round habitants. When you approach the island, you will encounter idyllic village scenery: with red beach huts with their jetties and the chapel rising behind them. A commuter ferry takes travellers to Aspö island for day trips, but there is also accommodation available in the typical village buildings. The austere and beautiful island offers relaxation with seaside views, in the middle of the rocky archipelago nature.

Aspö is a great choice for independent travellers. You can find a shop and a cafe by the guest dock in the summer season, but outside the season, you should pack food with you. If you are lucky, you can buy fish from the locals. You should ask about accommodation and booking a sauna in advance. You can read about the services on Visit Aspö (in Finnish)

You should dress appropriately for the changeable archipelago weather, so that you can enjoy the scenery and nature in peace. The island has a marked nature path of approximately 1.5 km, and you can admire the island in all directions from the nature path’s highest point. You should also stop at the chapel, where you can find a traditional archipelago church boat.

Public transport

The ferry M/S Baldur departs from Pärnäs in Nagu and continues to Aspö island, taking roughly two hours. The commuter ferry’s timetable allows you to take a daytrip to the island on some weekdays, or you can choose to stay there overnight. The commuter ferry has separate winter and summer schedules. Larger groups can ask for an offer from Aspö Charter that makes trips from Nagu or Korpoström to Aspö on some days during the summer season.

You can complete the entire route with public transport.  Saaristobussi (bus services 901–904) operates between Turku and Pärnäs. Taking a bicycle on the bus is subject to a fee, and they will only be admitted if there is room in the cargo hold. A free commuter ferry from Pärnäs in Nagu, M/S Baldur, operates the route Nötö–Aspö–Jurmo–Utö. The commuter ferry has a cafe. Please note that the ferry will only stop at the intermediate ports when needed, so you must make an advance notice if you mean to board from one.
