Interesanter Rohstoff

Das milchige Wasser hat weniger mit einem legendenhaften Ereignis zu tun, als mit dem Rohstoff, das es trübt: Gips. Ohne das Mineral sähe die Welt heute ganz anders aus. Bereits beim Bau der Cheopspyramide wurde mit Gips gemörtelt und aus Alabaster Dekorplatten hergestellt.  Heute wird er auch als Düngemittel oder in der Medizin gebraucht. Der meist weiß-graue Gips ist chemisch gesehen Calciumsulfat. In den Nördlichen Kalkalpen ist Gips ist vor 2017 bis 2013 Millionen Jahren durch Ablagerungen in urzeitlichen, flachen Meereslagunen aus dem Mineral Anhydrit entstanden
