Wertvoller Berg
Im Bereich des Kristbergs befanden sich Kupfer-, Silber- und Eisenerzgruben. Dieser Schatz lockte im Hoch- und Spätmittelalter viele Bergleute ins Silbertal, dessen Namen auf den Bergbaubetrieb verweist. Diese Einwanderer wurden fortan "Silberer" genannt. Die Grubenöffnungen sind heute überwachsen, aber wer genau hinsieht, kann noch die Halden und Pingen im Gelände entdecken. Übrigens ist die damalige Dreifaltigkeits-Bruderschaft der Bergleute ein Vorläufermodell der heutigen Sozialversicherung.
