Als die Hangbereiche abrutschten, wurden sie saniert und gesichert und ein Geschiebebecken errichtet. Seitdem holt sich die Natur zurückholt, was ihr gehört. Auf den damals gerodeten Waldflächen wächst Latschengebüsch, in den offenen Schutthalden gedeihen typische Pflanzen wie Raugras und Schwalbenwurz.  So können sich Weiden und andere Gehölze ansiedeln, woraus sich Rotföhrenwälder entwickeln. Besonders sind die seltenen Tierarten wie der Schmetterlingshaft oder die Zauneidechse. So gehören die einstigen Schutzhalden und Felslebensräume heute zum Europaschutzgebiet Davenna.
