Die Partnachklamm ist eine der eindrucksvollsten Klammen in den bayerischen Alpen. Auf einer Länge von 700 m durchschneidet sie mächtige Lagen von Alpinem Muschelkalk und Partnachschichten am Fuß des Wettersteingebirges. Die Wände der Klamm reichen bis zu 86 m in die Höhe. Der namensgebende Fluss – die Partnach – entspringt im Reintalanger und wird u.a. durch Schmelzwasser des Schneeferners, dem Rest eines eiszeitlichen Gletschers auf dem Zugspitzplatt, gespeist.
Mit dem Projekt "Bayerns schönste Geotope" des Landesamts für Umwelt (LfU) und des Umweltministeriums wurden 100 wichtige Geotope in Bayern der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Eines dieser 100 Geotope ist die Partnachklamm. Alle Standorte, so auch die Partnachklamm, sind mit Informationstafeln ausgestattet. Für jedes Geotop ist ein Faltblatt erhältlich.

Public transport

Das Skistadion ist vom Bahnhof Garmisch-Partenkirchen mit den Ortsbuslinien 1 und 2 erreichbar.

Directions

Von München aus auf die A95 Richtung Garmisch–Partenkirchen. Die Autobahn endet kurz vor Garmisch–Partenkirchen und geht in die Bundesstraße B2 über. Sie erreichen die Partnachklamm, wenn Sie der B2 Richtung Mittenwald folgen und am Ortsausgang von Garmisch in Richtung Skistadion nach rechts abzweigen. Dort stellen Sie Ihr Fahrzeug ab und erreichen den Eingang der Klamm zu Fuß (ca. 20 min.) oder mit der Kutsche.
